Practical Training
Ontario regulations require forklift operators required to certification and licence renew every 2–3 years, with an evaluation after 18 months. Re-training is also needed in the following situations:
- Accident / near-accident
- An observation is made where the forklift is used in an unsafe way
- An assessment indicates that extra training is required
- Operators are upgraded to newer or different models/types
- After passing three years since the initial certification
- Changes in the workplace presenting new hazards
