Re-certification

Practical Training

Ontario regulations require forklift operators to renew their certification every 2–3 years, with an evaluation after 18 months. Re-training is also needed in the following situations:
  • Accident / near-accident
  • An observation is made where the forklift is used in an unsafe way
  • An assessment indicates that extra training is required
  • Operators are upgraded to newer or different models/types
  • After passing three years since the initial certification
  • Changes in the workplace presenting new hazards
