WHMIS stands for Workplace Hazardous Material Information System, and is the collaborative effort of federal, provincial and territorial governments as well as industry to regulate a uniform hazard communication system across Canada.
WHMIS came into existence with Hazardous Products Act, which lays down standard for a national chemical and hazard communication system. To obtain more knowledge on WHMIS, please visit Health Canada’s Website, which has extensive information regarding Hazardous Materials and Controlled Products as per the government legislation.
WHMIS Training has two parts and we provide exclusive training with all tools required to impart training. First part includes general knowledge training, second part site-specific training. During our training program we provide general knowledge of symbols, classification, MSDS sheets, and all other pertinent information required by legislation. All of our WHMIS training products includes the GHS supplemental information.
The course includes the following topics:
- The objective of training.
- Responsibilities of employer,supplier, supervisor and workers.
- Making employees aware about their rights to know, right participate and right to refuse the hazardous work.
- Cautionary labeling
- How to read the material safety sheet, how to handle material safely. What are health hazards and how to act in emergency
- Knowledge of hazards of the products
